FREE Manila Heritage Walking Tour x Pasyal Sunday

Have you been wanting to rediscover Manila? Join this monthly free walking tour in the city to get you going! This tour is called the Royal Postal Heritage Tour, and it aims to raise the awareness and tourism of the historical places in Manila.

My favorite part of the tour was the exclusive access to Metropolitan Theather (MET), which has been closed to public and forgotten by the public. I often passed by this landmark, but I had never really gotten to appreciate its beauty and significance to Philippine history and arts. Admittedly, it was my first time to marvel at its art deco architecture. Going inside, the grandiose but run-down interior gave me different kinds of goosebumps.

After the visit at MET, we headed on to the Manila Central Post Office —to which we were given free stamps.  At the lobby, there were sellers of collectible stamps and an ongoing stamp auction. There was also a commercial shoot happening at the alfresco area. The tour also took me to several parts of Intramuros such as the National Press Club, Puerta Isabel, Plaza Mexico, Aduana de Manila, Maestranza Walls (My favorite new discovery!),  Royal Warehouses, Plaza Espana, Bahay Tsinoy and Manila Collectibles. Coincidentally, that day was also a Pasyal Sunday, so we ended our trip at Calle General Luna to join the festivity.
