After spending time in Kawit, we still had enough time to do more explorations. And so, we maximized the day of Independence by going to Marogondon in search of Bonifacio’s final trail.
We rode by car from Kawit to Maragondon Church and Andres Bonifacio Shrine. Car that can withstand rough roads would be the best mode of transportation because the shrine is located at the end of an unpaved and desserted road.
We headed on to Maragondon after our trip to Kawit, Cavite. Take note that the Bonifacio Trial House was under renovation at that time, so we just proceeded to our next stop right after.
Maragondon Church. The Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, or simply, Maragondon Church is one of the country’s 26 oldest churches. This was built by the Jesuits.
Bonifacio Trial House. The Bonifacio Trial House was in restoration from the time that we visited, so we did not get to go inside the place. This museum was formerly a house and the house where Andres Bonifacio and his brother, Procorpio, faced an unjust trial by the military court. They faced charges of sedition and treason over the then new government led by Emilio Aguinaldo.

Bonifacio Shrine and Eco-tourism Park. Before arriving at the Andres Bonifacio Shrine, we passed by this deserted picturesque land. We were a bit scared if we were in the right path, but we eventually landed on the gates of Bonifacio Shrine.
We drove all the way to Andres Bonifacio Shrine that is located at the foot of Mt. Nagpatong. This was the place where the late Andres Bonifacio was executed after the unjust trial. The mural depicts the life of Andres Bonifacio and the Katipuneros. Two larger-than-life-sized monuments of the Bonifacio brothers with rope tied around their hands could be seen.
Entrance Fee: Php 20 per person
Address: Mt. Nagpatong, Maragondon, Cavite
